Mane smiled as she chose to remain in these lands, and nodded slightly, he padded over toward where she lay, and sat beside her. A smile still etched across his maw. His deep eyes glanced over her, judging her, checking for weakness. He needed to know after all, as she decided she'd stay.
You can stay here with me, these are the free lands, so this is where the free wolves live. You dont have much choice but to stay with me.
..but, erm, havent you lost a pup you need to find? ooc:// Briz, Amazing wolf site, join! captive-instinct.proboards.com/index.cgi

Sheva's ears flattened against her head, and she snuffled quietly.
I don't know how to find him she said I don't know if I'm wasting my time trying to find him. Maybe I should just accept... She whined But if I do, I might be leaving him alone somewhere
She rolled over onto her back growling in confusion. She shuffled closer to Mane and nuzzled his coat. She wanted some comfort and certainty.
So I guess I'm part of your pack. You never did answer my question about the king; does he live near here?

Mane nodded his head softly, whoever she searched for, if they were in the free lands, they were safe, if they were in the rebellion lands, they were also safe, just stuck with a corrupt leader. The only thing to fear was whether the lost one was alone. But he didn't voice this, he simply returned her nuzzle, and smiled reassuringly.
Yeah, I'm King of the free lands.
He retorted, in a simple, clear tone, as if he had said something minor and unimportant, which to him, it was.

Sheva had been in the middle of a yawn which turned into a chocked yelp of surprise.
You'rethe King? she laughed. Well, that I did not expect
She tilted her head on one side, poor Mane; he looked sad. A king should be proud of his title, and yet this Amulet business seemed to have caused much destruction. She licked her lips cautiously. She wasn't sure if Mane trusted her enough to answer her next question; maybe her past was distancing her from her new pack leader. She fervantly hoped otherwise but it was more than possible. Still no harm in trying.
What happened?

Mane chuckled softly at her words, and shook his head lightly, in a friendly manour though. He smiled toward the she-wolf, deep eyes smiling softly, and thick coat flowing slightly in the breeze, he looked up toward the heavens, dusk was falling all around them. His eyes twinkled in the reflection of the stars, and rising moon. Turning his head the opposite direction, he could see the beauty of the setting sun. How curious that both were out tonight. He turned his gaze back to the she-wolf, and sighed softly, he would answer her question, to the best of his ability.
I'm afraid i don't know. We think it was a traitor from the free lands.

Sheva growled.
I hate traitors. It was traitors who scattered my last pack and...most likely killed my cubs She sighed and looked up at the stars and howled up to the heavens in appreciation of the beautiful evening.
What's with this amulet? I mean, aren't you still king even without it? Why do you need it?

Mane smiled, and sighed once more, yes, he was still king without it, but the amulet was more than that. It was passed down from generation to generation, and held special powers. But he would not tell this new she-wolf of its powers. He couldnt risk another traitor. Only Mane knew the true powers, for now. He knew the rebellion leaders suspected something more, suspected its powers. But they couldnt yet work it. They didn't know exactly the wonders and evils the amulet could posess. So he simply replied in simple tones to the she-wolf, trying to disguse what he was hiding.
Its an heirloom. Its important for my family.

Sheva looked deep into Mane's eyes.
An heirloom...
Something didn't sound right; she'd been lied to before; but Mane was a subtle wolf; she couldn't read him like others.
Ok. If you say so
She got up and shook herself and walked off to the opposite end ot the clearing and lay down with her tail to him

Mane nodded, but felt like the female could see through his words, he shrugged it off lightly. He had more important things to worry about. He walked slowly toward the female, then licked her muzzle softly, he turned his head, and his ebony nose scented the wind, he couldnt find any danger, but had to be sure, being a king gave you many duties.
I need to scout the lands.
He told the she-wolf, his words again, simplistic, he saw no need to elabortate. His strong pillars pushed his brown body forwards, the air rushing past him, and he left the scene.

Sheva watched him go; she was annoyed he wouldn'tbe honest with her, she could feel something wasn't right. She growled irratably and half closed her eyes waiting for daybreak
OOC: Hey can I now make it daylight so she can wake up in the same post???

The next morning
Sheva woke with the morning sun. She yawned widely and stretched out, rolling around. She got up to scratch herself against a tree. She wasn't hungry yet, the meal could last her at least a week should she choose. She growled under her breath; Mane wasn't back. Not that she cared. Not even a little bit. No. Definatly not. No way. She padded down to the river and dipped her mouth down into the cool cleansing water. She'd slept well but she wanted to run somewhere; maybe it was frustration, maybe she'd been sitting around too long. All she knew was that she either wanted to run somewhere or she wanted to hunt something. Either way, she suddenly bounded off into the greenery.
